Meet our VP of Membership: Maisy Holch! Read her message to PNMs below🐚🫧🤍

Hi PNMs! Welcome to your first taste of the Greek Community at UW! My name is Maisy Holch, and I am honored to serve as Delta Zeta’s VP of Membership this year. Having been in your shoes three years ago, I vividly remember the emotions you may be feeling. To (hopefully) ease your mind a bit, I have a short piece of advice!

Recruitment is an incredibly exciting time where you have the opportunity to find your future home at UW. I know there are a lot of decisions coming your way, but there are also so many beautiful opportunities. While meeting all the chapters and inevitably running home on bid day is the ultimate goal, I encourage you to focus on the experience. Some of my favorite memories from recruitment were not spent at the sorority houses, but in a small room in Hansee Hall, laughing with the girls in my RC group. Take advantage of this time, and be open to meeting new people, because they will become your community, no matter which chapter you end up in. These women will always be a smiling face for you to look for in a crowd or a shoulder to lean on. As different as every woman and chapter is, we all have one thing in common: we are all Panhellenic and therefore support each other. I wish every one of you the best, and hope you find your people!

“This past weekend, I had the pleasure of representing the Kappa chapter at the Delta Zeta National Conference. It was so wonderful to meet with other current leaders, as well as our amazing alumni who continue to stay involved. In addition to connecting with many other DZs, I was able to vote on amendments to our constitution, hear from wonderful keynote speakers, and accept our regional honoree new member education award. I cannot wait to be back with my sisters on campus this fall, and when I am, I will be more inspired, educated, and passionate because of this conference.”

Saachi Sharma (DZ Communication Marketing Intern):
“This past week, I had the incredible opportunity to attend Delta Zeta’s National Convention and Everlasting event in Orlando, where I worked alongside DZ staff and fellow interns to support event operations and create social media and PR content. From sitting in on national business meetings to interviewing outgoing National Council Members, I was inspired by shared passion, leadership, and sisterhood that drives our organization forward. I especially loved announcing DZ’s fundraising and supportive impact through our partnerships with SeriousFun Children’s Network and Starkey Hearing Foundation. I’m so grateful for the late nights, meaningful memories, and the amazing women I got to share this experience with!”

I’m grateful to be surrounded by such a diverse, hardworking, and inspiring group of women at Delta Zeta—each of whom is shaping the future in their own unique way. I know that in today’s world, it’s not always easy to own and embrace womanhood, but I hope today reminds you to celebrate your victories—big and small—and take pride in the strength and individuality that make you who you are.
